A Summer on Set with Anna

What a summer it’s been! Probably the warmest summer I’ve ever experienced. I hope everybody’s coped well. For me, it’s been a busy period; not only did I help out with a family’s garden party. But I’d also helped out with the sound recording for a short film written and directed by a local filmmaking friend of mine.
Anna Tagirova is a personal friend who I met through a short filmmaking course at the Phoenix. Since then, we’d planned to make a film together, regardless of which role we’d take on. But the middle of this month brought us an achievement toward this one goal.
The film is a short horror movie – I shan’t give too much away as this is Anna’s project. I’d read the script before the shooting, and it had a very well-detailed concept. The shooting times mostly fell late at night between work hours, but it has been worth bringing my Zoom F8 and my boom mic, gear ready for the action! Anna has demonstrated a dedicated approach to her direction and an awesome passion for the film’s story.
So, thank you, Anna Tagirova, and well done for your hard work – and the same goes for everybody else involved. Hopefully, we can work together again some time. If anybody needs a director, I’d recommend Anna.
