This is a poem I’ve written in celebration to a new movie that’s just come out.
Prepare for some serious action on the streets,
Around the world as the crowd set on their feet.
Fists are flying, legs are spinning,
As are fireballs and the cries of “Hado-ken!”
Those were the days when we had Sega,
Where players selected to play as a cultural fighter,
To battle it out, whether it was in China or India,
For I fondly remember them all – especially Blanka,
The Grendel-like guy from Brazil.
The electronic crouches, the rolls, they were like so brill.
Then there was Chun Li with the legs of lightning,
And the yoga fires and stretching limbs of Dhalsim.
Not to mention the hand slaps of Edmond Honda.
Balrog, Guile, Ryu, Ken, Vega,
Sagat, Zangief, etcetera, etcetera,
And of course the leader of Shadaloo,
That is Mike Bison. Whoop de doo!
The new Street Fighter movie has now entered the screens,
A chance to analyse the actions of the mean machines.
